All New 2011 Volvo C70




Summer is just around the corner. 

The 2011 Volvo C70 has undergone significant changes from previous model years, while still continuing to position itself as the undisputed leader in the luxury convertible segment.  Customers familiar with the older C70 models will immediately notice that both the front and rear ends of the 2011 C70 are redesigned to give the car a sportier, more dynamic look.  With angled headlamps, more wedge-shaped nose, enlarged front grill, LED brake lamps, and redesigned lights in the back, the C70 brings a more updated look while still retaining the distinct impressions of a Volvo.

                

Compared to the previous model year, the 2011 C70 provides a much greater value.  The automatic transmission, Sovereign hide leather interior, and Sirius satellite radio with six month free subscription now standard equipment, with a reduction in the starting MSRP to $39,950, making the convertible a $4,000 value greater than the 2010 model.  

The C70 is also by far the safest convertible available.  For the third year in a row, the Volvo C70 has won the IIHS "Top Safety Pick," having achieved a ranking of "Good" in every category.  The Volvo C70 features such world-first safety features as door-mounted inflatable curtain air bags - the first in a true four-person convertible - and its patented WHIPS whiplash protection system for the front seats.    The Volvo C70 also comes standard with dynamic stability and traction control.  The A-pillars, which frame the windshield, are made from hydroformed steel, each capable of supporting twice the car's weight.  An enhanced Rollover Protection System triggers rollover bars located behind the rear headrests to protect passengers in the event of a rollover or side collision.  The patented V!VA front structure of the Volvo C70 uses four different grades of steel to help direct the force of a collission away from passengers.

      

While a hardtop convertible, the Volvo C70 is still a practical vehicle.  The C70's Load Assist system allows passengers to access the free space in the trunk without repeatedly raising the vehicle's top.  A passthrough in the back seat allows for longer items to be transported.  Most other hardtop convertibles, while they have room in the back, make it cramped for passengers.  In this sense, the Volvo C70 is the only true four-person convertible.
